A young actress from Munich travels with her colleagues to Northern Schleswig/Sønderjylland in Denmark to take part in a theatre production. But strange occurrences and an old family secret draw her into a maelstrom of repression, guilt, and truth.

As she attempts to shed light on the dark past of the house they’re staying in, she discovers that her own life is far more connected to the region and to the German minority in Denmark than she ever imagined. In the end, she must make a choice: or will she finally face her own truth?

Haus Quickborn is an old property owned by the German minority in Denmark, serving as a cultural and community centre. Located in the small town of Kollund, on the Danish side of Flensburg Fjord, it becomes in our fictional tale a place haunted by the shadows of history – a site where memory and identity collide, and where the past and the present confront one another.

Present day: Young actress Clara travels with her theatre troupe from Munich to Northern Schleswig/Sønderjylland to take part in a theatre production. During their stay at Haus Quickborn, mysterious events begin to unfold, and an old family secret draws her into a maelstrom of repression, guilt, and revelation. Clara stumbles upon traces of a long-forgotten history closely tied to the German minority in Denmark and to the region of Northern Schleswig/Sønderjylland. At the same time, she realises that her own life is far more deeply connected to this place than she had ever believed. In the end, she must choose: will she keep turning her eyes away from the ghosts of the past or finally confront her own truth?
